ARE YOU AN OVERLY BUSY MOM?

We have to admit that it is not easy being a mother. The responsibility of being one ranges from being a care giver, provider, teacher, companion…and so on and so forth. BUT for me, what matters most is my being a “mother” to my kid. The guidance to her step my step growing up, from spiritual to physical needs.

I have seen working mom’s leaving early morning and returning at night. A few time left to rest before calling it a night and start another day. The so-called quality time almost forgone with the household chores, and to which sometimes given only on weekends. (So glad to be a Stay At Home Mom). Thus goes to mind the learning needs of kids. It is nice to know that the past “start of school age” of six now can be at an early age of three. Unlike me to have a lot of time to feed the mind of my daughter, some do not. They leave their kids to be looked upon by house-helps as they leave for work. And you will be so lucky to hire house-help that can teach them as much as you do. That is why ideally, these days toddlers are better seen at school than just home. I believe that it is natural that children start their learning during the developmental stage, while their brains are being the “sponge” that absorbs every little detail.

So, if you think that you are not able to give them enough time to teach and guide, let the school do that for you SOMEHOW. Somehow, because there is nothing like the guidance of a parent. You still would need to give them as much time as you can, at least by following up. Then comes the spiritual needs that, we, as parents are obliged to introduce and lead them to.

FINGER FOOD FOR TODDLERS AND KIDS

Kids normally can forgo eating simply because they prefer more to play than wash their hands, sit in front of the table and eat. For them it’s too much of a waste of time, and so as parent’s it is our responsibility to train them and at the same time ensure that they are getting the right quality and quantity of food. Balance and complete nutrition can be met if only we give effort for them to acquire it.

Be imaginative in preparation and it will get their attention. I have to be colorful and somewhat eye-catching. Like putting smiles In their biscuits, or sprinkles in their muffins. We also have to give variety. It cannot be the same everyday, because your daughter may favor it today but not after 2 more days. In a weeks time, you can serve your pizza bread again, or your banana cake with banana chips on the side. In my case, I sometimes cut up the slice bread into 4 and put 4 different spreads for variation. My Anya loves it that way, but again, not everyday.

The thing is, we serve them different kinds of food for them to get all the different vitamins and minerals each food contains. Like if you give carrots today that have lots of vitamin A, give spinach next for vitamin B…something like that. Just be sure to give them the right amount of carbohydrate, protein and fat.

And it is okay to give them treats once in a while; fries with their sandwhich, or chips with their veggies. Make their meals enjoyable, but do not let them get used to playful eating all the time. Let them know that it is imperative that they eat, and that they have to get used to eating alone.

LAUGH WITH ME

It's a wonderful feeling to laugh our heart out, and hearing someone do so is quite contagious. This baby here had me laughing along, and I kept viewing this for a couple of times since I have seen this about a year ago. And I wish to share the happiness with you today.

HAVE A NICE DAY!

CAREER WISE

If during our younger years, our parents look for the best school to provide us with the best education, now that we are more capable of doing so for ourselves, we still have the same criteria as they do…only the best.

We are the ones to choose which career, may it be in accordance to our parents request, what we have always wanted or what is “in-demand”. And if in that concern, you are looking into a medical career, like that of a dms program, you may want to look into this site where you will find a credible learning institute that have highly trained and experienced educators; varying areas that may be more accessible to your place; and excellent programs that includes internship or hands-on experience in their medical facilities. Core programs for LVN or LPN Nurse, Psychiatric Technician, Radiologic Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, and the likes are offered to cater to your needs.

GIFT FOR EXPECTANT PARENTS

One of the most awaited time of an adult in a family life is the bringing forth of another being into the world: child birth. This is the equivalent of him + her, and the happiness felt during this vulnerability is unsurpassable. And sharing this moment with them through the gifts we give them is an added warmth that will not be forgotten.

CHOOSE something that will have a personal touch. Something that may be big or small but will matter to them and not just giving anything just to have something handed over. Being in that waiting stage, we can make it more exciting by giving what their “parent life” will need. Not always necessarily for the baby, since we can give that during the baby shower (or the Offering). It will be much better to give them what THEY will need. Something like a timer a “tight in the schedule mom” might need, a desk calendar for “office dads”, a one click wall lamp for parents who will have to walk to the nursery at night, a scented candles and shower gels to keep the love going though now a three-some...etc.

Think of what you want and see if they want them, too. There’s a high probability that you have the same “parent need” that will be the best gift to have and give them.

TALKING TO YOUR BUMP

When I was pregnant, I used to talk to my little someone inside. Yes, I did. I talk to her, I sing to her, I read to her…I made her listen to music. And it is not silly, if you’re thinking that it is.

Because, it created bond to your unborn kid and you. Even to her dad which she hears whenever he talks to her as well. This is not insanity, this is a proven fact and many guaranteed it’s positive effect. What I can give my word to is that this made my little girl talk earlier than most. At 2 years old, there is no more blabberings and garbled sounds. She talks like a 4 year o
ld at that early age. Another is her love for music. Right now, she’s past her nursery rhymes…she’s singing jazz, pop, and dance songs; and she’s only 4!

So, stop thinking that this is non-sense and start talking to your bump!

CHILLAXIN IN THE SPA

Have you ever tried having a body massage? Whoa, I tell you…it’s heavenly! Reliving all those stressed muscles with coaxing rubs and points will definitely put you in a trance. With the aromatic scent that makes your senses reel with intoxicating warmth, soothing sounds of nature that let your mind travel to calming destinations and the ambiance that relaxes you to absolute nothingness.

After all the daily household chores, whining tots, rushing from work, stuck in traffic,…just endless responsibilities, you have to get away before losing sane. Next time around, do not wait to be at wits end before thinking of this for it makes the mind healthy and your vigor back to youth.

In the spa, the whole body massage is just one treat amongst the many choices one can avail. The need to detoxify can also be dealt with, with various available treatments like sauna, seaweed scrubs, facial care…etc, etc. What matters for me is that you have a safe haven to spare you from getting the stress of life at an early stage of your life. Living is difficult, but it need not be all the time. Have a break, have a chillaxin day at the spa!

PARENTAL GUIDANCE

It is but a precaution on the part of the TV sponsors to include such reminder below a movie or a show that is not advisable to be viewed by minors or kids per se. But remember that IT STILL IS THE PARENTS FULL RESPONSIBILITY to always see to it that their children is not exposed to violence or anything that will not be appropriate for their age. It is actually not limited to the television, but to other sources as well such as the internet or the video games they play with.

Just a simple reminder mom's and dad's out there!

MY KID SWEATS A LOT, IS IT NORMAL?

4 years and I am still learning everything there is to learn about kids. And as of the latest, I wondered why my li’l girl sweats a lot especially while she sleeps. It is common occurrence, may it be a warm day or not, to find her hair plastered to her head with sweat and her pillow drenched with more upon waking up.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and author of Baby and Child Health: The Essential Guide From Birth to 11 Years ensures it to be normal. That kids’ sweat when they are in a deep sleep, which is more frequent than adults. It is also because that their temperature regulation is still not fully developed. We just have to keep them warm at bedtime by adjusting the room temperature if necessary and by just padding them lightly. This sweating though decreases as age increases. She also made mention of the difference in normal night sweating and overly heated child; that an overly heated child feels warm before reaching deep-sleep. In my case, I have observed of my li’l gir’ls warmer than normal palms and feet.

Still, “in every rule there is an exemption”. We have to be perceptive also of probable infection which will make her sweat as she fights it; of a sleep disorder called apnea which is the difficulty in breathing thus also makes her sweat as she tries to grasp more air; or of alarming signs as run down by Dr. Sue “fever, snoring, gasping, pauses in breathing, and any symptoms of illness. In any event that these are observed, call your doctor. In fact, anything that makes you feel that something is not normal, do not hesitate, after all we don’t want it to be too late.

At least now, my curiosity has been fed as to why kids sweat more than us adults specifically when they sleep.

BRIBERY

Wikepedia defines it as a form of pecuniary corruption, is an act implying money or gift given that alters the behavior of the recipient.

It has always been a negative form in my own vocabulary, and anything negative is something I avoid giving or exposing my love ones to, more so my kid! Being a parent, I feel responsible to whatever “something” that will affect my kiddo’s view on life and on what this will make her the person she will be in the future.

Bribery will make her the USER those people resorting to this as well. So as to get what they want, they will feed you with what they know you will bite. She will also be demanding of that bribe making her a prisoner of that need. We don’t want our kids to be ruled by things of the darkness. We want them living as at peace and as happy as they can be.

Above all, I have this Holy Fear in my Creator. That it is not within His allowed thing-to-do. So why do something that will make you regret forever?!
