Yesterday was yet another day for me to be proud of myself...because I was able to cook something that's so damn good I can't believe it's me who did the cooking! (head high, stomach in chest out...puffing up!)
5 years ago, I know the rationale in cooking...scientific approach. But the moment I start working in the kitchen I end up frustrated because it doesn't come out how it should. The soup taste water, the fish soggy or burnt, the chicken stiff and dry...only my rice comes out right. Then with practice I became even better than the elders. Plus knowing the facts and fallacies when it comes to food and nutrients, the food served not only tastes wonderful but balanced and nutritious as well.
As I was saying, I love the meal last night. If only I took a minute to take a shot with my cam and not splurge on it after smelling the superb aroma and delving into it you would agree that my Chicken Steak with Potato Strips looks splendid. (Sorry all you can do is look, now hear...and not taste! haha! If only it's so advance in technology that you can also smell and taste from the computer!? Honest, it's one of my best cooked meal ;) Or maybe the family is just so ravenous that anything we put in our mouth will still be tasty...nah, it just really turned out well. Proud me, tsk!(wink!)

haha I know what you are talking about, I know the theory of how to cook, but nothing comes out descent, and the problem is that when I made something wrong, I don't have any idea of what went wrong, so I can't fix it. At least it is good you learned.
