IS IT SAFE?

There are times that we are overly protective of our kids that we worry overly much. We tend to get a little carried away with all the tragic events we see in the evening news and it caused us to have "too creative imaginations" that we fear letting them out of our site. But it calms us down when we know where they will be going and if it is safe for them to go there.

School year starts and for our first time schoolers, we wanted to be ultimately sure that the school we chose for them values safety precautions. You visit the premises and notice barricades that will not let them be near the busy street, therefor protects them from vehicular accidents that happen everyday. It is also important for you that they have crowd control especially for outsiders and visitors and the velvet ropes you have seen from the entrance going to the visitors area assures you that trespassers will not have easy access to the children inside, thus your kid is safe.

Years after, they are teenagers. They start to go out. As much as we want to give them independence, we just can't let them go places that seems unsafe. We give advice. "Probably this mall is better than this" because we notice the wisely devised crowd control. Stampede in crowded area at an event of emergencies more often causes fatalities more than the reason for the emergency. But with the mall's appropriate signage and stanchions with ropes, it leads the crown to safety more than those without them.

SAFETY IS IMPORTANT! And we cannot just let happen what can be avoided. And it can be with precautions and tools to assist us in achieving safety.

PURIFIED WATER...HOW SAFE?

Not all household in the country have supply of potable water. If in the metropolis it is common to be linked to the country' sbiggest water sewage, not so in the provinces. More often their sources comes from deep well.

In the late 1990's, the sale of water purifiers at home went up, but not so much, since not every family can afford to have one. Unlike this purified water delivered as is that is up to present being the most common source of drinking water in every provincial home, and some even from Metro Manila. There's so many of them into such business that you almost can see one not far from your place. The thing is, how safe are they?

It is best that you visit the site and do some observation of your own when it comes to their processes and procedures. More often than not, it's the cleanliness and sanitation of the place and the handlers that should be given attention to.

My daughter once got HOSPITALIZED when she accidentally ingested the water I was bathing her to (a drop maybe since she’s spluttering the water by that age!) She was just more than a year old then and was being washed in her bath tub with a purified water (obviously, I’m trying so much to be careful). Upon laboratory results, it was found that the water coming from the previous water we were ordering is positive with bacteria that could have been fatal if taken in large quantity and not right away treated. She suffered a week in the hospital getting blood samples and swabs, running tests, and another week going back and forth to be injected with an anti bacterial intramuscular. I should have sued them, but decided to just let it go and learned my lesson then. A few weeks after, I heard the long time business closed.

We cannot guarantee 100% how safe that dealer provides us, but it is our right to ask and check.
