THE TEACHER IN ME

Being a granddaughter to an English professor, there is this urge to teach and share the knowledge that I have. Since I was a kid, whenever an adult asks me what I want to be when I grow up, my response always has been “I want to be a teacher”. But that was not meant to happen. I became a Nutritionist-Dietitian instead who are in-charge of the dietary needs of patients. Somehow though, I was able to do what I have always dreamed of doing, because I give advices and lectures just as a teacher would. In fact, I find it more fulfilling because you are saving lives and not just imparting knowledge.

Still, I have weakness for books and children. Seeing children's books makes me want to have kids before me, and seeing kids makes me long to have books at hand. Just as it did when I saw these marilyn burns books. It makes me itch to start with it like a kid grabbing coloring books.

And I believe that we don’t have to be a teacher to do this. There are a lot of children needing attention and can benefit from our extending help at the same time fulfilling our utmost desire. In fact, even our very children are lucky for us to provide such learning’s. Teach them how to read even at an early age; my daughter does though she’s not schooling yet. Consider it a preparation to their school days. And there are so many teaching resources available to guide you. Teaching ideas to the very lessons you need, can be found if only you would look. I did…and so will you.
